baby_pointingWelcome to Paddington Green Health Centre. The practice moved to its present purpose-built premises in April 1999 from Lisson Grove Health Centre.

This surgery website is to present all our patients with up to date news and information about our practice. We will keep it current with any developments or other details that we feel are relevant to you. 

Although you are free to consult any of the doctors working in the practice we would like to encourage you to remain with one doctor so that both you and your doctor can get to know each other. You can book same day appointments and advance appointments.

'Urgent' appointments
These appointments can be booked from 8am. They are for urgent medical matters. Your appointment will be with the doctor on duty at the time of your appointment.

'Soon' appointments
If you don't need to be seen urgently then you can book an appointment for the next 48 hours; this will generally be with any available doctor but you may be able to choose which doctor to see.

 Telephone appointments
Many problems can be sorted out over the phone so you don't have to come to the practice. Just call the main surgery number and one of our receptionists will take your details and ask the doctor to call you back. The receptionist will ask you if the call is urgent or can wait. Telephone consultations are a good way of having a word with your usual doctor.

Online appointments
We have now launched online appointments booking for doctors appointments. The booking system is available to patients booking or cancelling an appointment 7 days a week. We hope that this service will give added flexibility to those wishing to book appointments when we are closed or when telephone lines are busy. Please ask for a registration form at reception.

Phlebotomy (bloods) Service

There is a walk-in service for blood tests between 8.30am - 11.30am Monday to Friday. Patients are seen in order of arrival. You can book an appointment for a fasting blood test or a Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) if you doctor has requested these tests; these patients are seen out of order, at the time of their appointment.

Test Results
Please wait for one week before telephoning for your test results. This allows time for the result to come back to the practice from the hospital, and for your doctor to check it. Please call between 10am and 4.30pm to request your results. (we are closed between 1pm - 2pm). A receptionist will ask one of our practice nurses to call you back on the same day. Make sure we have the correct telephone number for you.

Free prescriptions for cancer patients
From 1st April 2009 cancer patients in England are entitled to free prescriptions. Apply for an exemption certificate by collecting an application form from your GP or oncology clinic now.

Out of Hours
If you have a medical emergency when we are closed and you cannot wait until the surgery re-opens then telephone us on our usual numbers ( 020 7887 1600 or 020 7887 1601 ) and you will automatically be transferred to the doctors answering service,
